Chief Executive Officer Lonnie W. Upshaw Lonnie W. Upshaw is a founder and serves as Chief Executive Officer of East Gate Energy. Lonnie is an engineer and a seasoned business professional with over twenty-five years of experiences in the energy industry. He has extensive knowledge in the areas of Natural Gas Operations, Marketing, and Trading. Prior to establishing East Gate Energy, Mr. Upshaw served as President of a natural gas marketing subsidiary of a large Midwest natural gas corporation. Lonnie developed a successful business model and managed the gas-marketing group, growing the organization from three employees and one million dollars in working capital into a five million-dollar net income contributing business unit. Lonnie also served as the vice president of Supply and Technical Services for one of the nation’s largest natural gas local distribution companies. As vice president, Lonnie contributed to the formulation of the business unit’s strategic operating direction and provided leadership to the operating officers responsible for storage, transmission, and gas control and storage assets. Overall, Mr. Upshaw effectively managed annual natural gas purchases of approximately 300Bcf, negotiated 1.5Bcf of annual firm transportation with several pipeline companies, and 40Bcf of storage rights. Lonnie Upshaw is responsible for the development of East Gate Energy’s business model and the implementation of the Strategic Alliance of businesses, of which East Gate Energy is a member. Lonnie earned a Masters in Management from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from New Mexico Institute of Mining Technology.
